Former Manchester United midfielder Lee Sharpe has said that the club should ‘send Romelu Lukakuon holiday for a couple of weeks’.
Romelu Lukaku has netted four times for United this season but is without a goal in his last eight matches at club level, and his form has been scrutinized over the last month.
Sharpe has claimed that the Belgium international ‘has the worst first touch he has seen for a striker’, and believes that United should rest the 25-year-old due to his current struggles.
“I’ve never seen a center-forward with such a bad touch. If your center-forward can’t hold the ball up, it makes it a very hard game,” Sharpe told talkSPORT.
“He’s saying he’s played a lot of football at the World Cup and since and that he’s feeling it. I think the best thing would be to give him a rest. Send him off on holiday for a couple of weeks.”
